henry smithThe Henry Smith Charity is a large grant making charity, making grants totalling approximately £25 million each year to up to 1,000 organisations and charities throughout the UK for initiatives and projects that address social inequality and economic disadvantage.


Grants of £10,000 p.a. and above are available through the Main Grants Programme.

The Trusthouse Charitable Foundation


Trusthouse Charitable Foundation are a medium-sized grant making foundation giving grants to small, well-established organisations in the UK who address local issues in areas of extreme urban deprivation, or in remote and fragile rural communities.


Within the two main areas of urban deprivation and rural communities, they are interested in helping established projects which work in the fields of Community Support; Arts, Education & Heritage; and Disability & Health Care.

Ibrahim Foundation


The Ibrahim Foundation makes grants to organisations which aim to improve the quality of life for people and communities in the UK. They do not have a specific focus as they believe those on the front lines in the community best understand the particular needs and where grants will bear the greatest fruits.

Westhill Endowment


The objectives of the Westhill Endowment are the promotion of education in the manner which reflects the principles of the Christian religion and the tradition of the historic free churches and the promotion of dialogue and educational interchange between the Christian Church and persons of other living faiths. To achieve these objectives Westhill supports community-transforming projects with advice and grants.

Paul Hamlyn Foundation - Ideas and Pioneer fund

The PHF's mission is to "help people overcome disadvantage and lack of opportunity, so that they can realise their potential and enjoy fulfilling and creative lives". Funding of upto £30,000 is available under their Ideas and Pioneers Fund to support people who have an idea with unusual promise to improve the life chances and opportunities of individuals and communities in the UK.
